Jonas Goslow was born in the East Bay of San Francisco where he grew up doing musicals from a very young age. He went to highschool at the School of the Arts in San Francisco, where he learned to love Shakespeare, Commedia, Japanese theater, and giving massages. He moved to Minnesota to go to the Guthrie Theater's B.F.A. actor training program in 2001, and stayed for four years after graduating in 2005. Jonas enjoys almost anything that utilizes his creativity, including but not limited to: playing guitar, writing songs, bodywork, meditation, drawing, designing, programming, reading, swing dancing, hiking, singing, playing computer games, and generally geeking out.
While in Minneapolis, Jonas worked primarily at the Guthrie Theater. There he built an exceptional resume working with world-class artists and teachers. Some of his most treasured roles include the Gentleman Caller in Glass Menagerie, Stephen in Old Wicked Songs, and getting to go on as Hamlet in one of the final performances on the Guthrie's original thrust stage. He is currently pursuing a career in New York City, and looking forward to more exciting adventures there.
Jonas is heavily involved in the local food movement, and co-created a website called Yards to Gardens (y2g.org), which will hopefully increase the number of gardens in cities throughout America. He is a passionate (though fledgling) gardener with ambitions to become an expert at rooftop gardening.
Jonas' family is full of creativity; his mother, Margaret, is a novelist, his father, Michael, is a painter and musician, his brother, Chris, is a professional pianist and songwriter, and his sister Annemarie is a dula and Waldorf teacher. All four of them live in the Bay Area where Jonas someday hopes to return to live.
